CURRENT TRENDS IN GAMBLING ENTERTAINMENT

Grant, (2011) suggest that 2011 has come with new and interesting trends in the casino gaming Industry in the financial front, the trend seen is that many investment banks have developed a renewed and greater interest in casino and online gaming. This is predicted to cause a number of deals such as acquisitions and mergers at variety of levels in the months to come. The interest has been facilitated by the increase of the commercial gaming as well as the shift in policies and the establishment of rules to ensure that online gaming is secure. Some of the regulators are serving not only as partners but also as protectors of the gaming revenue.

The prospect of the increase in and the global acceptance of online and casino gaming in the US has seen the increased interests by the global suppliers and operators, some of who have started pursuing the US partners. Others have started identifying the different opportunities that are available for them in order to become some of the first participants in the US online gaming industry (Grant F: 2011).

During the recession, casino hotels experienced slowed demand and revenue as consumers reduced spending on traveling and gambling. While this trend is expected to reverse as the economy recovers, players will face increased competition from international casinos, online gaming and other gaming venues. Still, a wider acceptance of gambling will fuel the industry's recovery into the next five years. Over 50.0% of casino hotels in the United States are located in Nevada, primarily in Las Vegas. Las Vegas is the unofficial home of gaming and earned revenue of $6.2 billion in total casino revenue in 2012. Nevada legalized casino gaming in 1931 and until the 1970s was the only location in the United States where people could legally gamble (IBISWORLD: 2014).

Online gambling is still considered a growth industry, as it only began to boom and see real growth in the late 1990s, but it has experienced growing pains in recent years, largely because of anti-gambling legislation in countries such as the US. While the US remains one of the largest markets for online gambling, it has become a risky one in recent years, with the US government passing laws in recent years to enable them to prosecute executives and firms involved in online gaming, including financial institutions that knowingly do business with online operators.

CURRENT TREANDS IN RESTAURANT

Lillicrap,Cousins and Smith  (2002) illustrates that eating away from home is generally increasing and there is widening diversity in the nature and the type of food and beverages on offer. The basic function of this industry is to serve food & drink to people, to satisfy their various types of needs. The main aim is to achieve customer satisfaction. The needs that customer might be seeking to satisfy are: ∙ Physiological: the need of special food items∙ Economic: the need for good value for the price paid∙ Social: a friendly atmosphere, to express feelings frankly∙ Psychological: the need for enhancement of selfesteem (Amaresh; 2012).
Walker and Walker (2014) demonstrate that sanitation is critical to the success of any restaurant and food service operation, guest expect to eat healthy foods that have been prepared in a sanitary environment. The restaurant sector grows and changes constantly, making it one of the most exciting businesses worldwide. The sector currently enjoys a surge in tourism and hospitality industry, a creative array of specialty restaurant and rapid expansion in convention business .Some of the current market trends are: Most restaurants prefer to hire trained staff, The use of modern technology is commonly used in restaurants,e.g the use of electronic pad for  order taking, Restaurant race into retail: take – home meals, Hyping up hyper locality: use of local produce or growing their own vegetables and herbs (Riley, 2012).
Food and restaurant styles are also continuing to diversify to meet the challenges of the demands being made by increasingly knowledgeable and value-conscious customers. Menu and beverages list contents are constantly being influenced by trends, fads and fashion, the relationship between health and eating, dietary requirements, cultural and religious influences, the advance of  vegetarianism, and customer acceptance, or otherwise, of irradiation and genetically modified food(Lillicrap and Cousins ;2014)

MOST HOSPITABLE CITIES

Hospitality means the friendly reception and entertaining of guest, therefore hospitable cities refers to the beautiful places that caters accommodations, entertainment, food and beverages for the guest. The
quality of receiving and strangers in a warm, friendly and generous way. Hospitality is a part of the tourism industry and is major part of the service provided in restaurant, hotels and airlines. The goal is to make the customer feel welcome, comfortable and satisfied. People who work in restaurant, hotels and travel industries, practice it by providing customer with quality foods, drinks and entertainment

I have done my research on most hospitable cities and I found out that Windhoek, Namibia is the most hospitable city in Africa. As you wander between the traditional German buildings and pastel-painted modern architecture of Windhoek`s city center you could very quickly come to the decision that the Namibian capital is the most beautiful in Africa.

But don`t be deceived by the sleepy, laid-back ambience; there are those who say that Windhoek is also the party capital of the continent. The township of katutura one of the most rocking nightspots you`ll come across even on a relatively staid weekend---explodes into frantic action twice a year during the Windhoek Street Festival (March) and Oktoberfest. Away from cafes, guided tours are available of many Windhoek`s main attractions, including Namibia`s National Museum at Alte Feste (Old Fort), the Christuskirche ( Christ Church) of the Lutheran parish from the year 1896, and Katutura. This suburb built on South Africa`s apartheid policy in the 1950`s is now a crowded mix of people from different cultures living together in peace and harmony. The same can be said of the entire city(www.namibiatourism.com.na)
